While on our way back to Addis, we stopped in Awasa for a brief meeting that Dave and Becky had with a group of believers who dig / drill wells. The above picture is a few of the team members getting a glimpse of this wonderful ministry.
Recently, we received word that the well drilling team is currently at the Galana medical clinic digging a well. They are at 66 feet and need to get to 75 feet. The well must be hand dug. If I understand everything correctly, a man must go down another 9 feet by hand. There are some very real dangers involved in this, so we have been asked to pray for safety.
While in Awasa, I happened to take a picture (below) of what the inside of a well looks like – you can get just a glimpse of the depth. Will you join me in lifting up a prayer for the safety of a man (name unknown) who may be in a hole similar to the below picture digging in tight and dangerous confinement so that people can have better water?
You bet I’m praying!
I had no idea the people had to go into a hole like this to dig for water. I am scared of close in places like that, so my heart skipped a beat when I seen this. I certainly will pray for these people that are certainly doing something so dangerous and at the same time literally putting their life in Gods hands and trusting completely in Him.
