Just got back from Greek class. Thanks Brother Dave for taking the time to teach us. I am really enjoying “re-retaking” the class.
Okay…I am computer baffoon (and trying not to be a Greek baffoon as well). I do not even know how to change the font on this crazy blog (and its mine!)
In light of [...]

Bethel Hill and the “Cross Games”
Posted in Community on March 29, 2009 | 1 Comment »
There was a lot of hard work that went into Saturday’s “cross games.” What are the “cross games?” Four churches (including Bethel Hill Baptist) got their Awana Clubs together and officially had an “unofficial” game day.
I know that saying I was “proud” may not be the best way to express the joy it brought me [...]
Remember is Good for the spirit (Part 3)

I can recall many memories with each one of these individuals. I have been to India with Chris, Kevin and Debbie. Mitch and Chris took me under their wing as I begin to discern God’s plan for my life. Kevin heard one of my first sermons and the list goes on.
Mitch and Debbie kept Kylie [...]
Fellowship is Good for the Soul (Part 2)

While in Tennessee, the fellowship was sweet and timely. I think the Lord allows all of us oppurtunities to revisit our spiritual altars to encourage us. Although First Baptist Gleason is not near West Acres Baptist Church, I was reminded that it is not about the location of the church building…it is about the people. [...]
Laughter is Good Medicine (Part 1)

I had a wonderful time in Gleason. The Bible says that laughter is good medicine, and I got a good dose of medicine. I cannot remember when I have laughed so hard. God has certainly given me some wonderful friends.

Hit-a-korma James!

On Tuesday of this past week, I received word that our translator to the Guji’s was found dead. I have been rather numb and solemn since. At the age of 23, James went home to be with the Lord. How? From what I understand we are uncertain of the circumstances surrounding his death, but 6 [...]
A Week of Teaching/Preaching

I leave tomorrow (Saturday) for Gleason, TN where I will be teaching/preaching at First Baptist Church Gleason. It will be bitter sweet. I have been sick for the last two days (fever 101-102) and today I am just starting to feel at 85%. It is also hard to leave with so much going on around [...]

White as Snow
Posted in Transformation on March 2, 2009 | 1 Comment »
We woke up to a beautiful snowy morning. Yesterday, I spoke on the “righteousness of God.” I often think about how the covering of ”snow” reminds me of the covering of Christ’s blood.
“Come now let us reason together says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; . . [...]
Caring for Sheep

Over the years, I have found myself interested in sheep. I own none, and I may never own one. However, the Lord has chosen to refer to us as “sheep.”
A few years ago, I bought Storey’s Guide to Raising Sheep. I simply wanted to learn from others who really spent their lives raising sheep. Here are [...]
