Today I have been thinking about Ethiopia. It all began with a phone call from someone in Georgia who is going to Ethiopia at the end of this month with her husband and son (January 2009). Through a friend, they came across this site and contacted me for some information. We had a wonderful talk, and I hope I was able to help. [I actually referred her to brother Ed and BeckyLynn and Ed has already spoken to her (isn't networking through the body of Christ wonderful?)]
Then tonight I was talking to Lynette about Ethiopia, and I was again reminded that I serve along side some great folks.
I recently made a commitment to return Ethiopia this May. After telling the church, Lynette was the first one to come to me and say, “Jason, I am jealous. I wish I were going with you.” I could not believe my ears.
God is working in many lives and Lynette is one among many. Tonight she told me that she had been reading my posts about our trip to Ethiopia and it simply blessed my socks off (I did not realize how encouraging it is to have people actually reading this stuff, but it is encouraging).
Lynette was a source of encouragement in many ways: First, she encouraged me with her courage. Her father was very ill when we left, and she was very torn on whether she should stay back or press on – she pressed on. Second, she encouraged me by getting out of her comfort zone. This was Lynette’s first trip far from home and first trip without her precious family nearby (she has a wonderful husband by her side). Third, she (along with my other teammates) encouraged me with her focus of completing the work to which God called her.
Finally, Lynette (along with others) is still encouraging me with her support of the May mission trip (thanks Lynette).
One of Lynette’s ministries was health education, she taught many, many women about health care (third picture).
P. S. The second picture is one of my favorites because it captures Lynette’s contagious laugh!

Glad you were able to talk with them…they are a really neat family. I think God is going to do great things. It is neat to see the connected web that God weaves through His children. Looking forward to March!!!!!!
