Molly and I recently watched Apollo 13. We saw it over 10 years ago, but I could not remember much of the movie (or the history of Apollo 13 for that matter). I am not trying to say the movie is historically accurate, but God’s providential hand certainly appeared to be all over that mission.

The kids had to go to school today (due to a snow day earlier in the week). While they were gone, Molly and I cleaned the attic (way over due). We decided to go out to eat and ran into my good buddy Matt and his family.
Matt was on the Nov/Dec trip to Ethiopia, and [...]

Above: Leigh, Lynette and Molly
Today I have been thinking about Ethiopia. It all began with a phone call from someone in Georgia who is going to Ethiopia at the end of this month with her husband and son (January 2009). Through a friend, they came across this site and contacted me for some information. We [...]

The family made it back safely. As you can see, Kylie is sporting her new gear. She is “gearing up” for softball. Thanks to all the family who took care of them.

Proverbs 26:17 - He who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own Is like one who takes a dog by the ears (ESV).
I remember watching a man grab a dogs ears once. Do you know what the dog did? He bit the man’s hand ”real good.”

Believe it our not some of my siblings have had children that I [...]

In my last post “Ethiopia: Till We Meet Again,” I briefly touched on surrendering our children to the Lord. As our departure neared, I began to realize that our children also had to surrender their parents!
I was not a perfect child, and my children are not perfect – but they are growing up with an [...]

Acts 13:3 tells us that the church at Antioch sent out some missionaries. If you recall, they came back when the work was completed (Act 14:26).
In some ways, this post is a tribute to my precious wife.
Most of you know Molly and I went to Ethiopia together. I have always wanted Molly to go on [...]

Right before we leave Ethiopia there is a big meal where many Ethiopian friends join us for dinner. The above picture is of one of our friends who is a college student in Addis, and we were able to get to know her during our first trip. Her father has been our driver for the last two trips, [...]
