One cannot go horseback riding at Camp Fitch unless they are 8 years old. Kaitlyn has looked forward to this moment for a long time. Several years ago, we went to sign Kylie up for horseback rides, unfortunately she was just 7. I remember how heart broken she was when she found out she had to wait another 365 days before she could ride at camp (Molly and I hurt for her)! She came home that year and entered into the “young writers” program at school. She wrote her story on how disappointed she was when she found out she could not ride (she won first place). I share that story to remind us that disappointments in life are real, but we also get through them. Kylie is not pictured because she went to Peggy Gray’s with a friend instead of horsebacking with her family. Sometimes our focus and priorities shift – I guess that is okay as long as Christ remains the center.
